Moment, based right here in Reno, has been an ardent supporter of Skiing the Basin since the 2020-2021 season. I encourage you to swing by their new factory and chat with their knowledgeable crew. They make whatever ski they want, and I can guarantee you want whatever ski they make!
Deathwish Tour 104
From long traverses to questionable snow, the DWT 104 never let’s me down. Initially skeptical of the Triple Camber design, I am now a true believer. Edge-hold when you want it, easy release and agility when you want it too. Low weight, yet properly damp.
Chipotle Banana
Surfy, slashy goodness. I’ve simply never had as much fun on a ski as the CB. Full-rocker, but with some backbone, this ski is equally at home charging as it is noodling about. Perhaps its best trait is the ease with which it goes from one to the other. Its versatility is incredible, and unless you ski a good bit of firm snow, there is a strong case for recommending this as a daily driver. It tours well, far beyond its designed purpose. Paired with Voyagers and mohair skins you’ve got one capable trail-breaking setup.
Deathwish
Sure, it is a bit hefty for touring purposes, but it’s equally capable touring cousin picks up the slack there. Mounted with a pair of Voyagers, these skis are more than I need for the occassional resort day, and are an absolute blast in the backcountry. When I am heading for an obscure objective and I know the snow might be ‘meh’…the Deathwish carves and powers through the worst of it to deliver smiles every time.
POW is an organization formed and led by passionate outdoors athletes and scientists who work together to identify and lobby for policy actions to address climate change. I am proud to be a member of an organization which values and lobbies for public lands, of which Nevada has the highest percentage of any state.
C.A.M.P. provides all the technical equipment necessary to safely and efficiently traverse the Great Basin landscape. From crampons and ice axes to gloves and skins (Contour), I have full trust in C.A.M.P. taking care of all my contact points.
Arc’teryx, a new supporter for the 2025 season, has me kitted out in a glorious Basin-color scheme for blending in with the bristlecone pines, dirt, and sage as I ski.
